Andres Muhlach finds joy in life’s small pleasures: a game of golf, a dream of the perfect potato chip, and the comfort he finds in his faith.
There comes a point in every young person’s life when they realize they can sense what they need before they fully understand why. And once they understand that, if nothing else, they stop being moved by life and can start moving intentionally through it. For today’s cover shoot, this comes in the form of golf clubs packed based on nothing more than intuition. “I brought my clubs since I saw we were near a golf course,” Andres Muhlach announces as he arrives.
He says it with the kind of matter-of-fact confidence that suggests this isn’t unusual behavior. Never mind that this is scheduled as a full-day shoot. I express some skepticism, perhaps I even scoff at the absurd remark. Surely there won’t be time between the setups, layouts, and interview to fit a round of golf. He just grins.

By early afternoon, the last frame is shot, and we are down to the final questions of the interview that form the basis of this profile. All about the 23-year-old behind the up-and-coming leading man moniker that has been thrust upon him. “So, Andres,” Lifestyle Asia asks. “How do you find time to pursue your interests outside of work?”
“Actually, I have a great example for you,” he starts to answer, that same grin on his face as he had this morning. “Right now, for example, this is how Andres likes to unwind. We have work right now. We’re shooting. Right? We’re about to finish early. Well, I’m about to go and play golf right there. That’s how I find the time. Work will always be a priority. It’s just about finding those windows of opportunity.”
But calling it opportunity suggests chance. What Andres has cultivated is something more deliberate—the ability to create space for joy in the margins. And it’s from these margins that we begin to draw out our lives.

Margins Of Joy
Recently, Andres wrapped Ang Mutya ng Section E, a romantic comedy series that established his leading man status. But today, we’re here to discuss someone else entirely: the person who exists in action before action.

For the shoot, Lifestyle Asia is partnering with Lexus Philippines to showcase a young man in motion with everything ahead of him.
Between takes and even in the middle of a shot, Andres moves through the creative crew and support team with genuine warmth. As we begin, and the second Andres is in the car, he immediately shows his playful side to make sure everyone is comfortable. There’s an ease to these interactions, a natural curiosity about the people around him that transforms the energy of any room. It’s not the performance of an actor. It’s the instinct of a young man.
“Every time I come to work, I want to try to make someone smile,” he says. “I always want to be that type of guy that when I enter the room, people are happier.”

After what we witnessed during the shoot, it’s easy to imagine how this translates to every set he steps onto. But this philosophy extends far beyond professional courtesy into his approach to life in general. Whether he’s at work, with friends, or navigating everyday interactions, there’s a consistent thread: the belief that human connection should leave people better than you found them.

“This job is so different,” he acknowledges about his acting career. “It’s not like a typical nine-to-five where you sit in an office. You meet a lot of creatives, you work with a lot of people, and you meet a lot of personalities. It all builds to who you are as a person.”
It’s this understanding that every interaction shapes all parties involved, whether you’re the star or the crew, the cover personality or the photographer’s second assistant, that reveals something essential about how Andres moves through the world. He creates these margins of joy, not just for himself, but for everyone around him.
