NextGen gathered business leaders, community members, and philanthropists for “Play It Forward” —a golf tournament that raised funds for disaster relief, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development.
The city of Manila has long been one of the most celebrated cultural and heritage hubs in the Philippines. Even during the period of Spanish occupation in the country, it was already a vibrant melting pot of culture, art, and history, as well as a major cradle for commerce. Today, it features a long list of heritage sites, foremost of which is Intramuros: the famed walled city where visitors can travel back in time and discover the beauty of the past, its vestiges still present in significant landmarks that have bore witness to some of the most important events in the country’s history. These days, organizations like NextGeneration Advocate Foundation PH, Inc. (NextGen), have turned their focus on revitalizing Intramuros, positioning it as a vibrant cultural hub.
NextGen is a non-stock, non-government organization whose focus lies on advocating sustainable community development through tourism, among other programs. Working hand in hand with the Office of First Lady Liza-Araneta Marcos and the Intramuros Administration, the organization aims to transform Intramuros into a model sustainable community that thrives through cultural and tourism development.
The organization also advocates support for marginalized Filipino youth as it partners with Life Project for Youth (LP4Y), an international group that empowers young adults aged 17 to 24—who are grappling with extreme poverty and social exclusion—through education.

Building a Nation of Changemakers
This year, NextGen continues to work alongside these two organizations—the Intramuros Administration and LP4Y—as part of its continuing commitment to take an active role in helping transform communities positively.
Through its Play It Forward fundraising golf tournament, NextGen brought together a dedicated group of advocates—including business leaders, community members, and philanthropists—through its Play It Forward fundraising golf tournament.
Presented by San Miguel Corporation, Acrocity, the tournament was held recently at the Sta. Elena Golf Club in Cabuyao, Laguna. It drew a record pool of 180 golfers to raise over Php 30 million in donations, which NextGen will be utilizing to fund its core advocacies on disaster relief, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development.
“Our mission at NextGen is to help build an inclusive future where every young Filipino is empowered to reach their full potential and contribute to a sustainable and progressive nation,” shared NextGen president Nadia Mirani Uttamchandani in a statement.
Last year, the organization and its partners raised Php 16 million, directly impacting over 37,000 Filipinos. These funds supported disaster relief efforts that helped nearly 8,000 families; the rehabilitation of the Pasig River; feeding programs for around 5,000 children through Feeding Metro Manila; and health, wellness, and charity drives for approximately 2,500 women and children in remote areas.
