There’s an array of sophisticated and premium vehicles that promote self-empowerment when a book just doesn’t cut it.
This is an excerpt from Lifestyle Asia’s November 2023 Issue.
MCLAREN ARTURA
This is a performance vehicle–if that’s not already apparent at first glance. I recently had the privilege of watching one of these drive right past me–my vehicle powerless to try keeping up with the beast that is the Artura. Bearing the “full force of McLaren,” this model can hit a top speed of 330 km/hour, and while I’m not sure where in the country you’d want to test that out, it’s definitely fun to say.

JAGUAR I-PACE
Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without the Jaguar I-PACE. This powerhouse is the brand’s first medium-sized performance SUV Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). It’s emblematic of the brand’s place in the 21st century, serving as the next definition of “Thrilling to drive, easy to live with.”
The I-PACE is driven by two electric motors— one at the front and another at the rear axle. Both motors provide instant torque from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.8 seconds, delivering sports car performance with zero tailpipe emissions.
BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GTC FIRST EDITION
I’m not going to beat around the bush. This thing is wild. If you’d rather people not look at you, don’t even begin considering this car. In sunburst gold, with massive 22-inch black and polished edge alloy rims, and all the finishings bearing a big ‘ol Bentley “B,” this version of the Continental commands more attention than almost any car on the roads in the country.
Talk about a power move.
LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 S P300
Thinking less soccer dad and more weekend warrior?
Say less. The Land Rover Defender 110 S P300 is the ultimate luxury, adventure-focused SUV I can fathom. With a 2.0L, Inline-4, 16-Valve, Turbocharged Petrol Engine and five seats worth of space, this elegant, boxy beast of a car has both the power and room to keep you comfortable in all conditions, even if that’s a weekend trip to the nearest coffeeshop.
