The global K-pop star will be promoting the luxury brand in Korea and Japan starting this month.
On May 9, Dolce & Gabbana announced that NCT’s Doyoung will be its first ambassador for Korea and Japan.
The luxury fashion house emphasized the role that musicians have played in the brand’s direction. Its social media posts say it has “always seen music as a source of inspiration, making this Ambassadorship the beginning of a new creative journey together.”
“As a global K-pop icon, Doyoung showcases his charisma and talent through his own unique music and style,” the statement continued.
“I’m truly excited to become part of the great Dolce & Gabbana family. I feel a strong connection that can give birth to a powerful synergy between me and the brand,” said Doyoung in the brand’s social media posts.
Last February, ELLE Japan featured the K-pop idol dressed in Dolce & Gabbana, already hinting at his future collaboration with the brand. Before that, back in November 2022, the brand invited Doyoung to Japan for the opening of the Dolce & Gabbana TOKYO GINZA SIX store.
As his first schedule in his new role, Doyoung will be attending the brand’s upcoming event on May 31.
The star’s recent activity has been focused on his debut in the boy group’s newest sub-unit, NCT DOJAEJUNG. The three-member unit released a mini album with the sultry and smooth single Perfume.
Promotions for their debut were reminiscent of those of luxury brands. The group’s launch event was complete with perfume samples (of the members’ own creation) and exclusive invitations.
Numerous celebrities and dedicated fans were at the launch event. Representatives from high-end fashion publications such as Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar were also present. Doyoung, of course, was dressed in Dolce & Gabbana for the event.
