Contemporary Spanish restaurant Deo Gracias unveiled a refreshed menu featuring new and tantalizing dishes crafted by executive Chef Alex Del Hoyo Gómez.
Since it first opened in 2021, Deo Gracias has been a go-to dining spot in Quezon City, drawing in crowds of diners who enjoy Spanish comfort fare served in a chic, relaxing atmosphere that encourages them to savor each moment. Run by respected chef and restaurateur Heny Sison, the restaurant offers contemporary takes that honor timeless favorites through the vision of Executive Chef Alex Del Hoyo Gómez. This 2025, the restaurant is unveiling a refreshed menu containing longtime favorites and brand new dishes for diners to sink their teeth into.

“Opening Deo Gracias, at the center of our vision is the enjoyment and gratitude for the good things in life—including the food and the experiences we share,” Chef Heny shares. “Now in its third year, we want to continue this journey. I think Deo Gracias is ready to reintroduce itself, starting with a new lineup of dishes that have been a year in the making.”

Lifestyle Asia was invited to a special preview aptly titled Primera Vez, which translates to “first time” — indicative of the reinvigorating and eye-opening experience that awaits when you try its delicious line-up of dishes. The new roster stays true to the restaurant’s enduring vision: to offer an immersive experience into the gastronomic world of Spain, interpreted the Deo Gracias way.

Delights Of The Land And Sea
As expected from Spanish cuisine, the new menu is made up of flavorful combinations of seafood, meat, rootcrops, and vegetables. Chef Alex even welcomed guests to the special preview with hand-drawn cards that creatively illustrated each of the menu’s dishes and their components.

Among the menu offerings that diners can try out is Tiradito de Salmon, a zesty and refreshing seafood salad with succulent salmon topped with coriander foam. A personal favorite and must-try is the Bravas 2.0, the chef’s rendition of the beloved Patatas Bravas that is typically eaten as an appetizer before meals or during weekends out with friends: a crispy, layered potato pavé, drizzled with garlic aioli and Sriracha sauce for that extra kick. Yet another rendition of a classic dish is the Croquetas de Cecina Y Membrillo, a creamy croquette garnished with thin slices of smoky Cecina (a type of cured, air-dried beef from Spain).

Deo Gracias serves an enticing Taco de Lengua, assembled with quality corn tortillas and filled with delectably piquant lengua (beef tongue, though Chef Alex specifically uses the very tip of it for this dish) and toasted cancha (corn kernels). There is also the Bacalao Y Coco, a more Southeast Asian-inspired twist of the popular bacalao (which translates to “cod,” but also refers to a type of stew that uses the fish): its salt cod fish is steamed then grilled before being served with a side of savoy spinach and covered in coconut pil pil sauce (pil pil is typically made through a combination of the fish’s juices and the oil it is cooked in).

And of course, it is not Spanish food without paella, and Deo Gracias offers the Arroz de Butifarra Y Trompetas (rice with butifarra or pork sausage, and trompette mushrooms). Taking inspiration from the cuisine of inland rather than coastal Spain, the dish comprises perfectly seasoned rice that was cooked in a rich stock for 12 to 14 hours, accompanied by a smoky butifarra (pork) sausage and black mushrooms that pack plenty of umami, then topped with a dollop of cream.
Capping off the meal are decadent deserts like the Tarta de Queso Manchego, reminiscent of the iconic Basque cheesecake of San Sebastián. Deo Gracias was among the first to interpret Manchego cheese into this creamy sweet-savory cake, and it is a staple that shouldn’t be missed.
From Spain To Your Home
On top of being a must-try dining experience in Quezon City, Deo Gracias is also a destination for those looking to bring a taste of Spain to their homes. La Tienda, the restaurant’s in-house deli, is where you can find fine wines, artisanal goods, and gourmet delicacies imported from Spain. It is also home to exclusive baked goods and Spanish cakes designed by Chef Heny herself. The wide array of premium Spanish products can make for unique gift baskets or add a touch of Spanish flair to your pantry.

Moving further into 2025, diners can expect even more dishes and events to come. The Spanish concept will be starting February with a bang through its guided wine-tasting workshop, Sips of Spain, on February 1, 2025. During the event, participants can learn more about the unique flavors and history of different types of Spanish wines.
Even after three years in the business, Deo Gracies continues to give loyal and new guests alike something to look forward to.
