Punk stars flocked to the Bench Tower for the 6th Philippine Fashion Ball last Saturday. It was a stylishly rocking evening of young fashionistas converging with Philippine style’s old guard. Fashion designers like JC Buendia, Tonichi Nocom, and Joey Samson mingled with the young fashionable set like Sabina Gonzalez, Jodilly Pendre, and Miko Raval for the fashion affair.
Adding flair to the event was the presentation of the capsule collections of Bea Samson, Esme Palaganas for Basic Movement, Rik Rasos and Patrick Bondoc for Proudrace, RJ Santos for Randolf in partnership with online retail giant Lazada.ph.
Amongst metal studs, leather jackets, ripped jeans and mohawk hairstyles, Ben Chan would lead the pack of fashion luminaries like Randy Ortiz, Rhett Eala, and Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez who honored this year’s awardees. Cited for their exemplary work in the fashion industry were Paolo Pineda for photography, Omar Ermita for hairstyling, and Miko Raval for fashion modeling.
Izza Gonzales Agana, who was honored this year with the Special Recognition of Excellence for Fashion Modeling award summed it up best: “People now are so into fashion. I am so happy about that. Fashion before is different from how fashion is now.” The best fashion tip we picked up from her that night? “It’s fun to dress up but you have to know your personality. Your style has to reflect your personality.”
