During Chinese New Year (February 5, 2019), red is everywhere. It hangs on the walls as lanterns and decorations, given to children through shiny envelopes called âng-pau, or worn on the body as festive garments. To the Chinese, red is an important color for their culture. It is the color of fire, which symbolizes good luck and good fortune.
It isn’t unusual for members of the family to sport red outfits while reigning in the New Year. In preparation for your celebratory events for the Year of the Earth Pig, we thought we’d compile a list of the latest red garments released by our favorite designer labels…
Christian Louboutin – If you decide to go subtle during your festivities, you can’t go wrong with Christian Louboutin’s red soles. This new pair from the Spring-Summer 2019 collection will certainly bring your year an understated elegance.

Gucci – Buffet eating is best enjoyed in the most comfortable of clothing. Gucci’s red hoodie (with dog embroidery) isn’t only cute, but can hide your stomach after all that eating.
Gucci is located at Shangri-La Plaza Mall East Wing and Greenbelt 4
Josie Natori – The Philippine-based designer has recently revealed her newest RTW Resort 2019 line, which includes this pink dress with beautiful red brush strokes that look as if it were painted right onto the fabric.

Longchamp – The French label has recently been stepping up their game, straying away from the bags that made them a household name, and branching out to casual clothing for chic, young women. This ensemble (seen recently in the Spring-Summer 2019 show), will put a stylish (and trendy spin) to any Chinese New Year celebration.

Louis Vuitton – True fashion lovers cannot go wrong with Louis Vuitton. Expressive men can purchase their bright red Cigaret trousers in bright red, while women can enjoy their new Twist PM LV Love Lock Charms handbag.

Saint Laurent – You can’t get more stylish than the Saint Laurent envelope bag in quilted textured red leather. We think the bag makes such a statement that if you chose to wear this, go with an all-black ensemble, and let the piece speak for itself.

Tommy Hilfiger – Rock out your Chinese New Year Instagram posts by copying Machine Gun Kelly’s red carpet look. This Tommy Hilfiger red velvet tuxedo will make you a dapper fellow and the star of the New Year.
