Robina Ko and Eric Tan were introduced to each other by common friends. When he proposed, it took four attempts. The first was in an airplane from Cebu to Los Angeles; the second was in a hotel in LA; and the third was during their anniversary while at Venice Beach. By some misfortune, the proposal did not happen the first three attempts. A few days later, however, he was finally successful. And she said “yes!”
The ceremony was an intimate beach wedding of 200 guests in Shangri-La Boracay, led by Pastor Joey Batumbakal. The couple’s Pomeranian was the ring bearer, and their daughter, Elle, was termed “The Little Bride.” She walked down the aisle with a sign saying, “Daddy, here comes Mommy.”
Guests were welcomed in the reception with a giant sandcastle and drummers playing. The venue was decked with a swathe of leaves hanging from the ceiling, and festooned with white dream catchers. The night ended in a display of fireworks. No matter how long the proposal took for the couple, it was all worth it.
