Not even the heavy rain could dampen the spirits of those who attended the launch of Romancing the Mediterranean, Rustan’s special showcase for the month of August featuring the best of France, Italy and Spain. Stephanie Zubiri Crespi hosted the event with charm and wit that set the tone for the whole evening. The festivities began with inspiring speeches by Rustan’s Zenaida Tantoco and Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. Lopez. Distinguished guests from the diplomatic corps and some of Manila’s finest were treated to a special program that featured 8 year-old classical singer Harriette Wharmbly and dance numbers by Fundacion Centro Flamenco. The celebration continued at the Home section where food stations featuring the countries’ signature dishes were served with bubblies and fine wine.
