The Top Travel Destinations For Filipinos In 2023

With international borders opening up again for travel, Filipinos are ready to visit these global destinations.

No matter the season, rain or shine, Filipinos are always looking forward to their trips out of town.

If you’re still wondering about where to go for your next getaway, Google Flights has compiled the most searched destinations for the months of June to August this year.

Tokyo, Japan is at the top of many Filipinos’ lists as the most searched travel destination. The Japanese ambassador to the Philippines, Kazuhiko Koshikawa, expressed his pleasure about the results on Twitter.

“Happy to find out that Filipino people are interested in Japan! Can’t wait for those clicks and searches [to] turn into more Pinoy[s] at our airports. Fancy a trip there this summer? Tara, punta tayo!” Koshikawa wrote.

Tokyo was followed by Singapore, Bangkok, Caticlan, Cebu, Hong Kong, Manila, Seoul, Kalibo, and Taipei.

Japan also topped the list of countries that Filipinos are looking up on the search engine. It’s followed by Thailand, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Korea.

Besides these top five countries, around 70% of the places Filipinos prefer to visit are in the Asia Pacific region. Bangkok, Bali, and Singapore are also emerging as some of the top cities people want to travel to.

Inbound Travel

According to Google, most foreigners going to the Philippines are from the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

As per the results, local places of interest include destinations like Sundowners Beach Villas in Zambales, Igorot Stone Kingdom in Benguet, Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati, and the National Museum of Natural History in Manila.

International travel usually comes with a hefty price. If you want to snag a good deal, Google Flights also revealed that for trips departing from the Philippines, airfare is often lowest at four to five and a half months before departure.
