Nuggets of Wisdom

When asked about her advice to her 19-year-old self, Roberts keeps it real: “Stand up straighter,” she advises. “It’s all going to be okay, and don’t pluck your eyebrows.”

These golden words weren’t just for her younger self but also for her 19-year-old twins, Phinneas and Hazel.

But, let’s be real, these three tips are timeless, especially the posture reminder. The desk hunch catches up with us all.

And for her kids, Roberts appreciates that her parenting style still resonates even as they venture into young adulthood.

“I have an immense amount of appreciation for both of my older kids because they still allow me to be the same mom to them and it’s not eye-rolling. There’s a huge amount of understanding,” she shared in another People interview.

“I parent them the same way out of the house that I parent them in the house. Which is, ‘Are you getting enough sleep? You sound like you’re sick. Are you drinking tea?’ And, ‘Text me when you get home so I can see that you’re safe and sound.’”

Golden Words

So, in summary, five nuggets of wisdom: Stand up straight, it’s going to be fine, leave those eyebrows alone, get some good sleep, and sip some tea. No complaints here.

And hey, it’s way easier than embarking on the entire Eat, Pray, Love journey that Roberts made look so tempting on screen.

Armed with Roberts’ timeless wisdom, we enter the holidays and a new year. Stand up straight, and recall, in the grand scheme of things, everything will be okay!
