Stories of a laid back beach holiday at the much awaited reopening of Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan in Cebu.
This is a story from Lifestyle Asia’s November 2023 Issue.
Lifestyle Asia had the privilege of visiting the newly reopened Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan. Sitting down with their dynamic general manager Didier Belmonte, we asked what he is most eager about.
“I’m very excited for everyone to experience the new Azure, it is bigger, better with so many new food and drinks to try. The view is just magnificent, I’m sure guests will love it as much as we do,” Didier enthused.

The resort is a sprawling sanctuary stretching across six hectares on Cebu’s stunning Mactan Island, designed for romantic holidays, family getaways, and guests looking to indulge in laid back tropical elegance.
THE LUXURY OF SERENITY
Being surrounded by nature, hearing the crashing waves, and watching the beautiful horizon set the mood for a serene getaway. Catching the beachfront sunrise and feeding fish in the Mactan channel are wonderful ways to reconnect with nature and oneself before taking a swim in the beach or infinity pool. A relaxing spa treatment at the resort’s multi-awarded Aum Spa completes one’s stay.
Didier shares, “One of the most rejuvenating treatments is our signature Aum Aroma massage which starts with a calming ritual to let you refocus, a massage combining Swedish, Esalen, and lomilomi providing long strokes and some rocking movement to provide the ultimate relaxation.”
ACTIVE PURSUITS
Guests looking for energetic activities can do yoga or jog around the estate. Island hopping or a private sunset cruise along Gilutungan channel may be arranged for an exquisite sunset experience.
A private snorkeling tour in San Vicente Fish Sanctuary and Sulpa Island is also possible for those craving nature explorations. Other fun options include the gym, kayaking, snorkeling, jet ski, banana boat, aqua Zumba, and the resort’s foam party on Saturdays.
EPICUREAN EXPLORATIONS
Didier reveals, “My favorite in Enye is the lamb–a very tender and delicious Asado Cordero with sides of salad and potato; for the modern selection, the lechon Cebu tacos is on top of my list. In Azure we have a lot of fresh seafood and the seafood tower/platter is a must. We have really good lobsters, but you can also pick a nice cut of beef from our aging chiller. We have good Indian dishes too.” On the upcoming Japanese restaurant, Aka, Didier shares his favorite will be the omakase which allows the chef to express his skills, taking guests on a gastronomic journey of Japan.
Crimson Mactan eagerly welcomes guests to indulge in an elevated experience of a tranquil tropical holiday.
