Taylor Swift makes headlines by parting ways with one of her private jets, taking action against flight tracking.
Taylor Swift has reportedly sold one of her two private jets, as her team issues threats of legal action against a student who tracked her movements.
Jet Split
According to Business Insider, the Federal Aviation Authority’s website confirmed the singer’s separation from her Dassault Falcon 900 on January 30.
Previously linked to SATA LLC, a company sharing an address with Taylor Swift Productions in Nashville, the jet has been in Swift’s possession since 2009.
Now, it’s under the ownership of a Missouri-based company incorporated in 2006.
While the specifics of this transaction remain undisclosed, it’s worth noting that a brand new Dassault 900 comes with a price tag of $44 million, as per Hindustan Times.
This move leaves Swift with just one private jet. Nonetheless, it doesn’t imply that she’s lacking in property overall.
According to Business Insider, she owns a portfolio of homes valued at over $80 million, including nearly an entire block of residences in Manhattan.
Capable of accommodating up to 12 passengers, the Dassault 900 served Swift’s travel needs until its last recorded flight on January 30. Meanwhile, her Dassault 7X, boasting a slightly larger cabin and a capacity for 16 passengers, remains operational.
Carbon Offset Efforts
However, Swift’s preference for private jets hasn’t escaped criticism, particularly regarding environmental concerns.
In 2022, as per Mirror, she topped a list of celebrities with the highest private-jet carbon emissions, and last year alone, her jets logged over 166 flight hours during her US tour.
In response to these concerns, Swift’s spokesperson disclosed her purchase of carbon credits to offset her jet usage. Yet, despite efforts to maintain privacy, she continues to face public scrutiny.
Digital Vigilance
College student Jack Sweeney, known for tracking celebrity flights, gained attention after sharing Swift’s flight data on social media.
As per The Washington Post, Swift’s legal team intervened, sending Sweeney a cease-and-desist letter, accusing him of “stalking and harassing behavior.”
Sweeney defended his actions, citing public information and transparency as his motivations.
“You should have a decent expectation that your jet will be tracked whether or not I do it, as, after all, it is public information.”
“Nowhere do I intend to harm,” he insisted, acknowledging his admiration for some of Swift’s songs.
Touchdown Moment
Swift was spotted at the Super Bowl supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
As per CNN Entertainment, the game was a rollercoaster, with the teams tied at 19 as it went into overtime.
However, in the final seconds, the Chiefs secured a game-winning touchdown, clinching the victory with a score of 25-22. It was the 7th longest game in NFL history.
Following the trophy presentation, Swift and Kelce shared a long embrace and kissed on the field.
It was a night of intense emotions for Chiefs fans. When the Chiefs took the lead late in the third quarter, Swift celebrated with actress Blake Lively and recording artist Ice Spice. This moment showcased the unbridled enthusiasm she brought to the game.
