Magnificent Jewels
Among the most notable items are two precious gemstones. At 10.57 carats, The Eternal Pink is the “most significant pink diamond to ever appear at auction,” according to Sotheby’s.
Meanwhile, the 55.22 carat Estrela de Fura ruby is the largest of its kind to ever come to auction. It’s expected to fetch over $30 million and if achieved, it would become the most expensive ruby ever sold.
Important Watches
The Important Watches auction will be offering two Rolex Daytona watches owned by the legendary movie star and race car driver Paul Newman. Both timepieces are estimated to fetch $500,000 to $1 million.
Also coming to auction is a rare “Pink on Pink” Patek Philippe ref. 1518 perpetual calendar chronograph. The watch was made in 1946 and sold in 1947, remaining with the original owner’s family ever since. The timepiece has a low estimate of $2.5 million and a high estimate of $4.5 million.
Handbags & Accessories
One of the rarest handbags available during Luxury Week is a limited edition Hermès silver metallic chèvre Birkin, expected to fetch $50,000 to $80,000. Made in 2004, the interior of the bag has a black chèvre leather lining.
Aside from these categories, the sale will also encompass sneakers, spirits, wine, real estate and more. “This Luxury Week is a testament to both the unique and the exceptional,” says the auction house. “Each sale celebrates extraordinary objects and the individuals and artisans behind them, many of which have left indelible marks on our cultural history.”
