As 2024 has come to a close, it’s time to look back at the biggest artists that have been a part of last year’s soundtrack.
From multiple songs that have reached the top of the charts to sold out tours, these musicians have achieved significant feats in their careers in 2024.

Taylor Swift
Is there any other artist who has had as large an impact in 2024 as Taylor Swift? The singer just wrapped up her record-breaking Eras Tour and released a whole new album in the middle of it, solidifying her superstar status.
Billboard, Spotify, and Apple Music have all listed her as their top artist this year. Swift is currently the only act to top Billboard’s year-end list four times, while ranking in the top 10 for seven years straight.
In 2024, 11 of Swift’s albums charted on the Billboard 200, with her latest release The Tortured Poets Department premiering at No. 1.
On Spotify, she received 26.6 billion streams globally, which made her the platform’s Global Top Artist. Meanwhile, TTPD was the most streamed album. Two of her other albums—1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Lover—ranked sixth and eighth respectively.
While Apple Music didn’t release a complete list of top artists, the platform did announce that Swift was its most-streamed artist.
Sabrina Carpenter
2024 has been quite a year for Sabrina Carpenter, releasing hit song after hit song and landing her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
She also had a dozen top 40-charting songs on the Hot 100—including her first top 40 hit (“Feather”), her first top 10 (“Espresso”), and first No. 1 (“Please Please Please”).
On Spotify, “Espresso” was the most-streamed song globally by the time of the cut off for the platform’s annual Wrapped feature. Meanwhile, her album Short n’ Sweet ranked third in the world.
Over the past two years, the singer has opened for several Eras Tour stops. In September 2024, she embarked on her first arena tour, consisting of 53 shows so far.
Wrapping up her jam-packed year, the singer produced and starred in a Netflix holiday special, A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter. The special featured duets with Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain, and more.
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish continued to prove her charting power in 2024, after releasing her album Hit Me Hard and Soft, debuting 11 new entries on the weekly Hot 100. The record debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in June.
Eilish was also the fifth most-streamed artist on Spotify globally. While her song “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” was the third most-streamed song when Spotify Wrapped came out, the track soared to the top spot by the end of the year with 1.781 billion streams. Her album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT came in second in the most-streamed albums list.
In August, Eilish featured on a remix of “Guess” by Charli XCX, who also achieved virality with her Brat album. The singer then began her tour to support her latest album back in September 2024 and it will continue until July 2025.
