To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Plains & Prints has brought together local fashion icons Vania Romoff and Mark Bumgarner for a capsule collection that is both a tribute to the brand’s legacy and a bold step into its future. The result is a line that is versatile, feminine, and undeniably chic, crafted for the modern Filipina.

For three decades, Plains & Prints, under the leadership of CEO Roxanne Farillas, has been a go-to for women seeking sophisticated yet accessible fashion. Farillas wanted to mark this milestone in a way that truly pushed boundaries. “This is the first time these two collaborators have worked on a collection,” she shares. “It feels fresh, new, and different.”

The collection is a masterclass in collaboration, seamlessly blending the distinct aesthetics of both designers. Vania Romoff’s pieces carry her signature touch of effortless femininity—think classic polka dots, playful bows, and romantic silhouettes. For her, the collaboration was an exciting first. “I never collaborated with another fashion designer for a retail brand before,” she says.

Her goal was to create pieces that are wearable and easy to incorporate into your existing wardrobe. Vania’s personal favorite is a bias-cut full skort in polka-dot taffeta, a piece she believes can be worn repeatedly. The mood? Fun and easy. Everything is straightforward and was meant to make the woman wearing it feel good.

On the other side of the creative coin is Mark Bumgarner, known for his sharp tailoring and high-fashion sensibilities. He approached the project as both a creative evolution and a challenge. “I’ve always admired Vania’s work and was excited to collaborate and blend our design aesthetics,” he says. “[Her] emphasis on practicality and everyday elegance helped me stay grounded.”

For this collection, he refined his signature lines into more wearable designs, balancing modernity with everyday appeal. The collaboration also broadened his perspective, moving from his usual focus on specific clients to creating for a wider audience. “Making designer-level creativity accessible through brands like Plains & Prints democratizes fashion—and I’m truly here for it,” he adds.
