Suitable summer scent

Summer is all about being outdoors, may it be traveling or just a day on the beach and enjoying the sun. However, heat is a factor that you might want to consider especially if you are a fragrance enthusiast.

A report from Rest Less said perfumes evaporate quicker on the skin and in the air during the warm weather. It recommended citrus, crisp green scents, and floral notes, which tend to “bloom” in hot temperatures.

Vogue India provided tips on finding the perfect summer scents suitable for people’s preferences and body chemistry. Its report said one should begin with preferences before experimenting through spritzes. Fragrances elevate their smell when people layer perfumes mindfully and combine them with formulas with long-lasting scents, like lotions.

We’ve rounded up summer scents from renowned brands which are worth putting into one’s collection.

Feminine summer scents

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Vitae Eau de Toilette is a citrusy scent that tickles the senses. Its lemon, mandarins from Sicily, hedione, vanilla, tonka bean, and guaiac wood components wakes its users up with and lets the wearer leave a sensual impression. Aqua Vitae is a perfume that is unadulterated by nature yet delicate by essence.

Coach Floral is a feminine scent that the brand’s signature tea roses inspired. It opens with a splash of citrus coeur and pink peppercorn with radiant pineapple sorbet. These mix well with its middle notes of florals like rose tea, jasmine sambac, and gardenia, all of which are enveloped with creamy wood, patchouli, and musk.

Meanwhile, Krigler Mediterranean Peach 15 is made up of fruity, floral, and woody scent notes. The brand said it was originally a bespoke perfume created for a British client with their favorite fruit’s scent. Peach 15 highlighted Mediterranean notes like jasmine, honey, and mandarin, all of which smell sweet yet fresh altogether.

Masculine fragrances for the warm weather

Dior’s Homme Sport Eau de Toilette is a fresh, vibrant, and explosive scent that is immediately recognizable. It contains warm and ambery notes that meld well with its fresh olfactory aura. Reggio di calabria bergamot, elemi and pink pepper, and frankincense are evident in every spritz, making it one of the perfect summer scents for men.

Givenchy Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum highlights a woody floral aroma through its sage blend combined with daffodil flowers. It includes whiffs of a vetiver quartet from Uruguay and Madagascar with cedarwood, sandalwood, and vanilla. It is a scent that will truly leave a memorable trail behind.

Terre d’Hermes is a warm woody-scented perfume that combines cedar, grapefruit, and a radiant note of shiso or perilla. Nothing says epicurean and crisp as this olfactory adventure in a bottle.

For unisex scent lovers

Maison Margiela’s Replica Sailing Day invites potential wearers to explore the ocean through its marvelous scent. It has an aquatic top note for the fresh marine accord that mixes well with coriander. The salty and woody red seaweed is its heart, accompanied by ambergris, bringing out the ocean’s depth in each spray.

Bal d’Afrique by Byredo is Ben Gorham’s love letter to Africa as it envelopes a myriad of cultures. The perfumer said it is one of his fragrances that reminded him of his father’s travel on freight ships. It is a memory in a bottle which evokes a citrus, floral, and woody aura with notes like marigold, violet, buchu, bergamot, vetiver, and Moroccan cedarwood.

Penhaligon’s Legacy of Petra’s woody and spicy fragrance is like bracing desert winds except it’s all in a bottle. It contains a riddle of bergamot and balsam merged with a fragrant woody amber scent. Hints of licorice wood, belambra, vanilla, and myrrh makes the mysterious concoction even more appealing. It’s a unique yet powerful bottle to add to your summer arsenal.
