Going back to her acting roots, the Duchess of Sussex appears as a silent background extra in a promotional video.
In an unexpected appearance, Meghan Markle made a cameo in Clevr’s promotional video. Posted on social media, the video features the coffee company’s co-founder Hannah Mendoza as she tours the viewers around their headquarters.
In the background, several employees are seen going about their days, including Markle acting as one. The Duchess is in the background of every scene as a silent extra.

Clever’s caption says that customers were keeping them busy ahead of the holidays. So much so that they had to call in some “reinforcements.”
Markle has been an investor in the startup since 2020. “This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritizes building community alongside her business,” she said at the time.
Earlier this year in February, Clevr also featured Markle in one of their Instagram reels. “Three years ago, everything changed,” Mendoza said. “None other than Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had started drinking our lattes.”
“Not only did she love the product, she was extremely passionate about supporting female founders, our sustainable sourcing, and our food justice giveback,” she continued. “Meghan ended up becoming our first investor, advisor, and biggest Clevr advocate.”
In the video, Mendoza also shared that Markle sent out some of their turmeric lattes to her friends. A few days later, Oprah herself featured their product in an Instagram video. The promotion led to a surge in orders and the company was sold out for two months.
With over six million lattes sold, Mendoza said that they owe much of that success to “the power of women uplifting women.”
In May this year, Variety reported that Markle signed with Hollywood talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME). Along with re-opening her own Instagram account, this could be a sign that the Duchess could still return to the entertainment industry.
