Miss Saigon Extends Its Manila Run For The Final Time

Miss Saigon has announced the final dates for its Manila season, extending it by another week until May 12 due to high audience demand.

It’s safe to say that Filipino audiences are incredibly excited for Miss Saigon to hit the The Theatre at Solaire in March 2024. GMG Productions and GWB Entertainment—the companies responsible for bringing the hit show to the Philippines—already announced an extension in November 2023 due to “overwhelming demand” during presale.  At the time, the companies announced that the show would end on May 5, 2024, instead of the initial April 21, 2024 date. However, GMG Productions recently added more dates to the Manila run, extending it for the last time until May 12.

This gives Filipino audiences another week to see the famous musical before it leaves the country. This particular run promises a spectacle unlike anything viewers have seen before in the country, especially now that it’s taking place in one of the country’s leading theaters for live performances.

“We’re beyond thrilled with the excitement and enthusiasm that the Filipino audience has for Miss Saigon that we’ve now made the decision to extend the production for one more final week,” shared GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal in a press release. “We’re eager to welcome more people to be able to experience the classic production.”

In January 2024, Miss Saigon held more Manila auditions to look for young actors and actresses who could play the role of Tam, Kim’s beloved child. Budding local talents Anderson Bonita, Keone Buenaluz, Dylan De Ocampo, Enzo Isaac, and Cassidy Lorenzana got the part, representing the country’s abundant talent.
