Get ready to relive the rocking spirit of the 60s this holiday season with Repertory Philippines’ adaptation of the iconic production, Hair. Transport yourself back to a sexually and politically charged era filled to the brim with Flower Power, revolution, and drug-induced hippy culture.
The story revolves around a group of 20-somethings from New York City who band together to form a tribe known as “the hippies” as a cry of protest against the Vietnam War. The story follows native Oklahoma farm boy Claude, who meets the energetic tribe of Central Park hippies whilst on his way to enlist himself in the US Army. This free-spirited tribe, led by the charismatic Berger, inspires Claude to rebel against the war, his parents, and society, and to assert love, peace and freedom.
Directed by Chris Millado and with Ejay Yatco as musical director, Repertory Philippines’ adaptation of the unforgettable production will showcase an extravaganza of psychedelic delight, immersive choreography, and pitch-perfect harmonies, all anchored by a brilliant cast which include the likes of Markki Stroem, Topper Fabregas, George Schulze, and Caisa Borromeo.
Hair will run from November 17 to December 17, 2017 at the Onstage eater, Greenbelt 1, Makati City. Purchase tickets through Repertory Philippines (+63 2) 843 3570 or Ticketworld (+63 2) 891 9999, or visit ticketworld.com.ph.
