First the tour itself, and now the concert film, both have broken records.
Last year, on December 12, the Guinness World Records certified that Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour earned the title of Highest Grossing Music Tour.
Now AMC Theatres’ press release on January 7 stated that The Eras Tour concert film has earned over $261.6 million globally, “more than any concert film or documentary in history.”

AMC Theatres also mentioned that Michael Jackson’s This Is It, released in 2009, previously held the record. Jackson’s concert film grossed $261.2 million at the global box office.
“On behalf of all of us at AMC Theatres, I send my congratulations and eternal gratitude to Taylor Swift for her remarkable and record-setting box office performance,” said Adam Aron, chairman and CEO of AMC Entertainment.
“Her spectacular performance delighted fans around the world and serves as another strong reminder about the power of extraordinary filmmaking and magic of movie theaters.”
Along with an impressive box office performance, Swift’s concert film was also nominated for a Golden Globe this year in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category.
While the film is still playing at select movie theaters throughout the US, it’s also now available online in the US, Canada, the UK, and Ireland. Fans can buy or rent The Eras Tour through Prime Video, Apple TV, Xfinity, Vudu, Google Play, and more.
The digital release offers an extended version of the film. It includes three more songs, “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” and “Long Live.”
The actual tour will restart in February, with a four-day run in Japan’s Tokyo Dome. Swift will also be heading to Australia, Singapore, and Europe before returning to North America for additional shows.
