Embark on a visual feast at the “Accidentally Wes Anderson: The Exhibition” in London, showcasing over 200 authentic images inspired by the director’s whimsical aesthetic.
When Wes Anderson comes to mind, it’s all about those sunny, vibrant, and vivid worlds he creates. The gloominess of London? It doesn’t register on the Anderson scale.
Surprisingly, the UK is gearing up to host the first-ever European exhibition. It’s inspired by the lively aesthetic of this American film genius.
Accidentally Wes Anderson: The Exhibition kicked off in South Kensington, London on December 8. It’s the freshest twist to a phenomenon that emerged six years ago on social media.

W and A
Enter Wally Koval, a self-confessed “nerd” and “Anderson fan-boy,” who launched an Instagram account.
Initially intended as a personal “travel bucket list.” It rapidly transformed into an online haven.
Sharing images of places mirroring the signature, color-soaked style found in films like The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Royal Tenenbaums.
This exhibition is a nod to the director through the lenses of travel, photography, community, and adventure.
The roots of Accidentally Wes Anderson (AWA) go back to 2017 when the Brooklyn-based couple, Wally and Amanda, kickstarted this as a personal project.
In a joint statement, they expressed their excitement about bringing the exhibition to London.
“We are so excited to bring this exhibition to London, in partnership with Fever. Our tiny team loves getting lost in all the amazing photo & video submissions the AWA Community sends our way. We cannot wait to share a beautifully curated selection in one of our favourite cities. Our mission has always been the same, since we started AWA in 2017. It’s to provide a daily dose of delight and inspire a sense of adventure and curiosity for all who wish to participate. We hope that this experience can do just that for everyone that visits.”
