Worth It: Adam Driver Goes Viral (Again) With an Updated Burberry Campaign

If you don’t remember, Burberry turned the Oscar-nominated actor into a centaur last year.

Adam Driver is back with Burberry with another campaign for the British brand’s men’s fragrance Burberry Hero. Last year, the campaign, which saw a half-naked and chiseled Driver sprinting into the ocean alongside a horse, quickly went viral.

Directed by experimental filmmaker Jonathan Glazer, the minute-long video unexpectedly turned when the actor and horse merged into one. In effect, the House of Gucci star transformed into a centaur.

The video made a resurgence when Burberry shared an updated version of the commercial, including an additional cut.

On preparing his body for the campaign, the 38-year-old told Vogue that he approached it like any film role. “When we got to shoot it, I’m so glad I did what I did because I think I underestimated how physical it would be,” Driver shared.

Representing strength

Our first shot is a guy on an ATV and a camera, matching his pace to a horse’s pace to my pace, and we’re doing it in 30 minutes because we’re chasing the light. Every shot was ambitious and really exhausting but, hopefully, worth it.”

We’d say it was. On YouTube, the original video has garnered over 1 million views. Meanwhile, the updated version, which the house posted last week, has about 23,000. However, those numbers don’t reflect its attention on Twitter and Instagram.

“Driver’s energy exudes tender soulfulness, expressed by the presence of the horse, which in turn, is a creature that represents strength,” Burberry shared in a press release.

Below are more of the internet’s reactions to the viral campaign’s revival.
