Vogue Threads Manila 2025 Weaves Filipino Creative Community Together

By

The seven-day celebration showcases over 50 photographs while offering masterclasses, portfolio reviews, and casting calls to nurture the next generation of Filipino talent.

Last Saturday, Vogue Philippines launched the third edition of its signature event “Vogue Threads,” transforming the open, industrial third floor of RCBC Plaza in Makati into a celebration of Filipino creativity and cultural storytelling that has emerged as the publication’s defining hallmark. Following its successful debut in Paris last year, “Vogue Threads Manila 2025” offers an immersive week-long experience that bridges established voices with emerging talent.

“We are honored to spotlight over 50 images from our past years,” shared Vogue Philippines editor-in-chief Bea Valdez in her opening speech, emphasizing how these photographs represent perspectives that are “both deeply individual and profoundly collective.”

The exhibition, curated by Miguel Rosales, features works previously published in Vogue Philippines, taken by renowned photographers including Sharif Hamza, Mark Nicdao, Mark Seliger, and Archie Geotina. The photographs are available for purchase, with proceeds from sales supporting the newly established Vogue Philippines Fashion Fund at designer Jojie Lloren’s F.A.B. Creatives.

Alongside the exhibition is a program of masterclasses that foster collaboration across disciplines. Designers Inno Sotto and Rajo Laurel join photographers Neal Oshima, Artu Nepomuceno, and Shaira Luna in sharing their expertise with aspiring creatives. In another session, the founding members of Propaganda, the pioneering fashion and beauty collective comprising Jay Lozada, Jing Monis, Juan Sarte, Marlon Rivera, and Cristine “Ting” Duque, reflect on Manila’s evolving creative landscape since the 1990s.

Beyond exhibition and education, “Vogue Threads” also prioritizes discovery and mentorship. The portfolio review sessions invite emerging photographers, designers, stylists, illustrators, and writers to present their work to seasoned professionals, while the “Vogue Faces” casting call seeks aspiring models with compelling stories and individuality.

“Vogue Threads Manila 2025” runs from September 21 to 27 at RCBC Plaza, Makati. For tickets and more information, visit https://vogue.ph/vogue-threads-manila-2025/.
