What Is The New Dehusk Barista Blend?
Developed for both baristas and home brewers, the new blend is richer, creamier, and bolder than standard coconut milk. Designed to steam and froth into stable microfoam, it performs well in latte art and specialty coffee while remaining completely dairy-free, lactose-free, and locally sourced from Philippine coconut farmers.
“It’s a light formula that still has a coconut taste, but subtle enough to pair and not overpower whatever it’s being mixed with,” explains Chris Bariou, co-founder of Dehusk, in an interview with Lifestyle Asia.
To celebrate the launch, Dehusk partnered with several local brands to showcase the versatility of the new blend. Guests sampled exclusive collaborations, including the Dehusk Coconut Latte, Vegan Chocolate Latte, and Dehusk Choc Au Lait with Auro Chocolate; a dairy-free Dehusk Coconut Froyo from Pinkberry; a coconut ice cream bar from Bubu Bar; and Dehusk’s signature Piña Colada recipe prepared using Ninja appliances.
Not Milk, But A New Go-To
The new Barista blend reflects Dehusk’s broader mission of bringing the richness of Philippine coconut to more tables while supporting the local farmers behind every carton. With its latest release, the brand extends that vision into cafés and home kitchens alike, offering a plant-based alternative that delivers on both performance and taste.
“We want to become the new normal or default option. We want Dehusk to be the go-to drink. We’re trying to prove that we don’t need dairy, especially for many Filipinos who are lactose intolerant,” Chris shares. “The takeaway for me is, we can produce all these daily staples and replace them with things like coconut, and it’s equally good, guiltless, and better for the planet and our health; we can be proud of it.”
