ALT ART 2026 Returns Bigger Than Ever

By

ALT ART returns in 2026 with its largest edition yet, expanding to SMX MOA with wider exhibitions, new curatorial programs, and a lineup of leading Philippine galleries.

ALT ART returns in 2026 with its largest edition to date, expanding to a new venue at the SMX Convention Center from February 12 to 15, 2026. Public days run from February 13 to 15, open daily from 1100 AM to 700 PM.

Organized by the ALT Collective, the fourth edition of the art fair brings together nine of the country’s leading contemporary galleries and features expanded exhibition spaces, higher walls, and new curatorial programs. With twice the floor area of its 2024 iteration, ALT ART 2026 aims to offer a more immersive experience for artists, collectors, and the wider public.

A highlight of the fair is the return of the SPECIAL PROJECTS, curated individually by each gallery, presenting focused exhibitions that push conceptual and curatorial boundaries. Featured artists this year include Christina Quisumbing Ramilo, Buen Calubayan, Julie Lluch, Kiri Dalena, Ben Brixx, Raffy Napay, MM Yu, KoloWn, Christina Lopez, Mauro “Malang” Santos, Lesley-Ann Cao, and Iwan Effendi.

ALT ART 2026 also introduces the DISCOVERIES SECTION, a new program spotlighting artists whose practices deserve wider attention. Participating artists include JC Mariategue, Jomari T’leon, Joar Songcuya, Allyza Tresvalles, Eric Bico, Gelo Cinco, Joanolasco, Rhaz Oriente, and Marco Ortiga.

“The Discoveries Program is a platform for artists who we think deserve to garner more attention. Some of these artists are not new, but we feel we have a long journey ahead. The program is also a reminder that with the fast-paced turnover of attention, it is a good way for us to step back and slow things down a bit,” explains Jay Amante of Blanc.

“New highlights lead to new interests which lead to new conversations,” adds Mawen Ong of MO_Space. “We aim to bridge the gap between what is established and what is to be discovered.”

What Is ALT ART And The ALT Collective

ALT ART is an initiative of the ALT Collective, a group of nine galleries that came together to create a platform for critically engaged contemporary art in the Philippines. The fair aims to bridge established practices and emerging voices while fostering dialogue among artists, galleries, collectors, and audiences.

“Each of the nine galleries that form part of the collective represents different artists who are experts in their field and have different points of view,” says Tina Fernandez of Artinformal. “ALT ART presents these different voices in a cohesive manner. Being in a venue that is more accessible to a broader audience fulfills our goal to enable more people from different walks of life to experience these shows.”

Through expanded exhibitions and evolving curatorial programs, ALT ART continues its mission to amplify Filipino artistic voices and position Philippine contemporary art within a broader regional and international context.
