Upcoming: MoCAF 2026 Celebrates The Pulse Of Philippine Modern And Contemporary Art This July

By

MoCAF returns bigger than ever with its most ambitious edition yet, expanding its roster of galleries, programs, and creative collaborations to continue its mission of making art more accessible to everyone.

The Modern and Contemporary Art Festival (MoCAF) returns this July for its fifth consecutive edition since its founding in 2022, bringing with it its largest and most ambitious presentation to date. What began as a 19-gallery showcase has steadily grown into one of the country’s leading platforms for contemporary art. This year, MoCAF 2026 will feature more than 50 local and international galleries, alongside an expanded slate of programs, workshops, artisan showcases, and food experiences, all designed to deepen engagement with the arts.

Running from July 3 to 5, 2026 at Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, the festival continues to champion its founding belief: that contemporary art is a living conversation open to everyone.

What To Expect At MoCAF 2026

Among this year’s participating galleries are returning names such as Ysobel Art Gallery, Fundacion Sansó, Art Underground, and White Walls Gallery. Joining them are international exhibitors including SHIKISAISHA GALLERY and Gallery Kogure from Japan; White Space Art Asia from Singapore; and Kate Contemporary Madrid from Spain.

The festival also welcomes the expansion of MoCAF XTN (Extended), which opens additional exhibition spaces and creates more opportunities for galleries and artists to present their work.

“Audiences can expect MoCAF 2026 to be bigger, more exciting, and even more engaging this year,” shares Festival Director Coleen Wong. “We’re bringing in a stronger lineup of galleries, artists, and creatives, including both returning names and new participants joining us for the first time.”

Among the featured presentations are a special exhibition by Jerika See and Sheila Go, a collaboration between Toym Imao and Tarantadong Kalbo, works by Jappy Agoncillo, and a major initiative with Chinabank featuring 100 artworks by 100 artists.

How MoCAF Discoveries Supports Emerging And Digital Artists

A major focus of this year’s edition is the progressive growth of MoCAF Discoveries, the festival’s platform for young artists. Over the last four years, Discoveries has featured more than 200 emerging creatives. For MoCAF 2026, selected alumni—including participants from the inaugural 2022 edition—will return to present how their practices have evolved, highlighting the long-term impact of the program.

The festival will also welcome digital artists and illustrators for the first time. Presented in collaboration with Art Caravan, digital works will be printed and framed, bringing screen-based creativity into a physical exhibition that’s affirming its place within contemporary art practice.

Melding Art, Design, Craft, And Community

Returning this year is MoCAF Limited, which offers a curated selection of artist-made merchandise, including a limited-edition capsule collection developed with Team Manila. Hands-on workshops will once again form a core part of the festival experience following strong audience response in previous editions.

XTN Artisans also returns, providing dedicated space for handcrafters, makers, and independent creative brands. Familiar names such as MILKWEAR and Baybayin Bags will be joined by newcomers including Armore Collective, Anmari & Co., and Binibini Marikit, broadening the festival’s showcase of contemporary Filipino craft and design.

Visitors can likewise enjoy an expanded XTN Bites lineup, featuring returning favorites such as ODD Café, Butterboy, and Hijo De Mexican Cantina, as well as new participants including The Good Poison, Fiasfud, Bored & Hungry, The Spirits Library, and SIPP.

A Festival Built Around Accessibility

Beyond the exhibitions themselves, MoCAF positions itself as a welcoming space for collectors, artists, students, and first-time visitors alike.

“MoCAF has always been envisioned as a space that feels welcoming and safe, not just for artists and creatives, but also for the public,” Wong elaborates. “Whether you’re a collector, an artist, or someone simply curious about art, there will be something to see, experience, and take part in.”

The festival still carries out its community initiatives through MoCAF Gives Back, supporting ScholarSip by Fundacion Sansó, which helps fund tertiary education for art scholars; and the Mbrace Project, which provides support for Filipino children in need.

As MoCAF marks its fifth year, the festival evolves alongside the creative community it serves, creating opportunities for artists, fostering new collaborations, and inviting wider audiences into the world of contemporary art.
