Consul Luis “Louie” Ablaza celebrated his 78th birthday at Amelia, the Ablaza’s majestic rest house in Cavite. Son, JunJun Ablaza transformed the sprawling estate into a festive and whimsical barrio fiesta adorned with brightly colored umbrellas and recycled cups, showcasing Filipino culture and tradition. A marching band signaled the start of the celebration where refreshments such as sago at gulaman, taho and local kakanin were served while traditional Filipino games were played. Lunch was t served at the pavilion, where a boodle fight was set and prepared by Chef Jessie Sincioco. Traditional Filipino dances performed by the Ablaza and Syquia grandchildren accompanied by the Bayanihan Dance Company enthralled guests such as Fortune Ledesma, Agnes Huibonhoa, Michelle Sison, Sheree Chua, Susan Joven, Mme. Agnes and Massimo Roscigno.
