In the lush landscape of Champagne, Moët Impérial hosted a star-studded celebration of its 150th anniversary. The luxury champagne brand toasted to its milestones with the presence of Hollywood stars like Natalie Portman, Uma Thurman, tennis legend Roger Federer, and style icon Kate Moss. Brand ambassadors and friends of Moët & Chandon indulged in the culinary experience of the three-Michelin-starred chefs and the night’s highlight, Moët Impérial.
Experience the dazzling epoch
Once a hunting lodge, the Château de Saran turned into a family residence. It is reborn as “Château de Famille,” a place for festive celebrations. President and CEO of Moët & Chandon Stéphane Baschiera shared, “We are thrilled to welcome our honored guests to the beautifully restored Château de Saran to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Moët Impérial in grand style, and to mark a pivotal moment in our House’s history.”
Moët & Chandon officially owned the Château in the 1960s to entertain friends and guests. Eventually, Interior Decorator Yves de Marseille transformed the historic Château de Saran into Château de Famille. This newly-decorated private home retained the cozy theme of the original House. Yet she added glamour all around the home, from the reception areas to the eleven private suites of the upper floors.
Each of the suite bears a name highlighting the heritage of Moët & Chandon. Walking through the hallways would feel like discovering the memoir of the Maison. Impériale suite is an ode to Napoleon I, an homage to the French imperial family that gave its title to Moët Impériale. Roaring Twenties suite echoes the era of vibrant jazz in Paris. The Chinese suite is a tribute to the empire that first welcomed Moët & Chandon.
Landscape designer Peter Wirtz redesigned the surrounding park to contrast with the Classist style of the Château. Peter connected a flowering garden with the Vendangeoir, the winemaking center. The landscapes make for a contemporary setting for celebrations overlooking the sprawling vineyards of Champagne.
A glittering toast
Throughout the evening, Moët & Chandon served its emblematic champagne blends. The limited edition bottles and the House’s fruity and seductive signature flavors highlighted the company’s distinctive characteristics. The combination of Yannick Alléno and Dominique Crenn‘s artistry and culinary expertise made a festive dinner for the guests.
After dinner, the A-list celebrities and honored guests enjoyed the marvelous performance of Freya Ridings. Her melodic sounds echoed the mesmerizing fireworks display that lit up the sky above Château de Saran.
Moët & Chandon unveiled a limited edition bottle to mark the momentous anniversary of the Moët Impérial. An erected “I” in the “Impérial” redesigned the logo as a badge of honor on the 150th-year milestone. The bottle contains the House’s signature reflective of the distinct
Moët & Chandon champagne blend. This bottle is the highlight of the grand toast to the brand’s epic journey throughout the years.
