This will mark the group’s first comeback as a quartet without their maknae (youngest member), Seungri, who departed in March 2019 following sex trafficking allegations.

BIGBANG—now consisting of Daesung, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and T.O.P—recently finished shooting the music video for the new song.

The title, release information, and additional details of the song have yet to be revealed.

YG Entertainment, the group’s label, said they plan to release a new song in spring.

BIGBANG’s first comeback in four years since Flower Road in March 2018 takes place following an extended hiatus. This was due to logistical reasons like mandatory military service and the COVID-19 pandemic, among others.

Although Rapper T.O.P recently did not renew his contract with YG Entertainment, he is still part of the group and will participate in comeback promotions.

The group is a key figure in K-pop’s 2nd generation, which is attributed to the rise of the genre’s global popularity. BIGBANG’s influence extends to music, fashion, and choreography; not to mention popular culture in South Korea.
