Artful Space: A Look at Louis Vuitton’s First Dedicated Menswear Store in California

Its debut offerings are the Fall/Winter 2022 collection designed by Louis Vuitton’s late men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh.

Last July 16, Louis Vuitton opened its first dedicated menswear boutique in California. Located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, it’s the French house’s eighth freestanding location exclusively for menswear.

The store will feature every piece from Louis Vuitton’s men’s ranges, such as ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, watches, fragrances, luggage, and lifestyle items like skateboards and home furnishings.

Its debut offerings are from the Fall/Winter 2022 collection designed by Louis Vuitton’s late Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh.

Inspired architecture

The shop takes inspiration from the brand’s recognizable Epi leather through textured paneling for its architecture. Inside, the 17-foot ceilings allow for art installations and elaborate visual merchandising, including the “Giant Man” sculpture by Abloh.

Another permanent art piece is Portuguese artist Marisa Ferreira’s three-dimensional acrylic painting on stainless steel and mirrors.

In December 2021, the 168-year-old brand launched its first US menswear store in Miami’s Design District after opening in Tokyo a year prior.

On July 29, LV’s “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries” exhibition will be displayed near the new space on Rodeo Drive. The exhibit, launched and revealed in Singapore, features versions of their trademark steam trunks designed by today’s influential artists, athletes, and musicians. Some highlights of the collection are trunks by K-pop supergroup BTS, astronaut Alyssa Carson, designer Kim Jones, and luxury architect Peter Marino.
