Art Walk Returns This 2026, Transforming Makati Into A Cultural Immersion

By

Now on its third edition, Art Walk by Ayala Land brings art into the everyday spaces of the city, both within and beyond its Central Business District.

Art Walk by Ayala Land returns for its third year as a city-wide cultural experience that brings art into Makati’s everyday spaces, stretching from the Makati Central Business District to Circuit Makati. Running until February 8, 2026, with select installations and activations continuing throughout Art Month this February, the Art Walk unfolds as a series of installations, performances, and creative encounters across the city.

Art Walk was conceived to complement Art Fair Philippines, reflecting Ayala Land’s long-held belief in art as an essential element of city-making. Designed to encourage exploration over time, it invites audiences to engage with art as part of the rhythm of daily urban life. Culture, for Ayala Land, is not an add-on to development but a core layer of community-building, one that animates public spaces and deepens people’s connection to the city.

Beyond The Fair And Into The City

While Art Fair Philippines anchors the contemporary art conversation, Art Walk extends that dialogue beyond the fairgrounds and into Makati itself, taking it to places where people already walk, gather, shop, commute, and linger.

This year’s Art Walk spans a wide range of public spaces, including Ayala Museum, One Ayala Terminal, the Paseo pedestrian underpass, Greenbelt, Glorietta, Ayala Triangle Gardens, Ayala Malls Circuit, and the future site of the contemporary arts center in Circuit Makati. The diversity of locations reinforces a simple idea: that art belongs everywhere, not only in formal or expected settings.

By intentionally linking the Makati CBD and Circuit Makati, Art Walk creates a cultural thread that connects districts and communities through shared creative experiences.

At its core, the Art Walk is a platform for artists, especially Filipino artists, whose works are presented alongside international practitioners within the same public spaces. This positioning places local talent within a global creative context, affirming the strength and relevance of contemporary Philippine art on an international stage. Throughout February, audiences will encounter visual art, performances, installations, and a range of art-driven activations that bring multiple forms of expression into public life.

Designing A Creative Odyssey

This year, Art Walk is taking a more intentional approach to experience design. Rather than encountering artworks as isolated moments, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a connected journey, one that makes discovery more intuitive and movement more seamless.

The Art Walk’s overall experience design and visual system were created by artist and designer Dan Matutina, who approached the project from the perspective of how art is encountered, interpreted, and felt. Grounded in an artist’s sensibility, his work considers how people naturally move, pause, and connect, establishing a cohesive visual language that unifies pieces across districts.

The Art Walk Map: A Cultural City Guide

Central to this year’s Art Walk is its map, which functions as both navigational tool and cultural guide, illustrating how visual art, performing arts, installations, and activations coexist in public space as part of a single narrative.

The map reinforces the idea that the Art Walk is not a collection of separate stops, but one shared cultural experience unfolding across Makati and into Circuit Makati. By lowering the barrier to entry (especially for those new to art walks) it makes exploration more approachable and engaging. Available online (access it here), the map allows visitors to plan routes in advance and approach the walk at their own pace.

Better Mobility

As the Art Walk now spans multiple districts, mobility becomes an integral part of it. Free shuttle services will operate between Ayala Triangle Gardens and Circuit Makati until February 8, enabling visitors to move comfortably between locations and experience the Art Walk as a continuous flow, rather than distinct zones.

The Art Walk’s expansion into Circuit Makati underscores the district’s long-term creative direction. Envisioned as a hub where arts, performance, and public life intersect, Circuit is anchored by venues such as the Samsung Performing Arts Theater and future cultural developments.

Art Walk by Ayala Land is both a platform for artists and an open invitation to the public. A sustained commitment to culture as part of the city’s infrastructure, it reminds us that public spaces are places for imagination, and not just transit.
