Through “The Grant” by Fashion Aid Philippines, young Filipino creatives have the opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity in fashion, jewelry, and home design.
On a sunny Friday afternoon, creatives from various sectors gathered for lunch at Chef Jessie’s—and, more importantly, to witness the launch of a life-changing opportunity for young Filipino creatives. Fashion Aid Philippines, the luncheon host, recognizes the importance of investing in young talent and believes that Filipino creatives have the potential to go global.

Fashion Aid Philippines has launched The Grant, a platform designed to discover and elevate Filipino creatives in fashion, accessories, and home living through a competition.

The Grant
The Grant aims to discover and nurture emerging Filipino creative talents by offering them the opportunity to study at prestigious design academies worldwide. It seeks visionary individuals who can rekindle Filipino ingenuity through groundbreaking work that expands the boundaries of design while honoring the traditions, culture, and narratives that define the nation.

The Grant also provides creatives with a transformative experience, allowing them to refine their concepts, collaborate with industry leaders, and showcase their innovative ideas to the global market.

“This initiative represents our commitment to the future of Filipino design,” said Paul Cabral, President of Fashion Aid Philippines. “It empowers emerging designers through mentorship, cultural exchange, and the chance to join a broader movement that celebrates identity, heritage, and innovation.”

The Guidelines and Criteria
The Grant is open to Filipino designers in fashion, accessories, and lifestyle (furniture and industrial) between the ages of 18 and 30 who currently reside in the Philippines. To apply, interested participants must submit a scanned copy of a valid government ID and a short video presentation (up to five minutes) showcasing one of their existing products to fashionaidphilippines@gmail.com. The application period runs from April 1 to May 15, 2025.

The grant criteria encompass various factors aimed at evaluating the overall quality and impact of a project. Creativity and originality are assessed through visual impact and the development of unique concepts. Innovation and sustainability are examined in relation to global appeal and compliance with environmental and ethical standards. Execution and technical skill are evaluated based on attention to detail and craftsmanship. The embodiment of Filipino identity and connection with the local audience gauge relevance to Filipino culture, arts, and tourism. Lastly, marketability is assessed by future growth potential and its relevance to the grant’s purpose.
The Grant Timeline consists of four key stages. The first stage, Audition and Submission of Video Entries, will run from April 1 to May 15, 2025. This will be followed by a Screening Process throughout May and June 2025. The selected creatives will then move on to the Production and Mentoring stage, which will take place from June to August 2025. Finally, the Announcement of Winners will be made in September 2025.
