But somehow, it all worked. Beneath the glitter, parties, and breakdowns was a show that understood what it felt like to be young and unraveling in real time.
Now heading into its third season, watching these characters grow into adulthood feels strangely aligned with my own life. I’m older now, too, navigating the realities of being a grown-up while still carrying fragments of who I was when I first watched the show. Naturally, everyone has their favorites when it comes to the show’s cast of misfits; with their intriguing stories, deep flaws, and layered motivations, well, it’s no surprise that what draws us to them might actually reveal a lot more about ourselves than we think.
