Here’s What Your Favorite “Euphoria” Character Says About You

By

The girls, gays, and emotionally unavailable men of Euphoria have their quirks and chaotic personalities; if you relate to any of them, here’s what that says about you.

The first time I watched Euphoria was during the pandemic. It had already been a year since the first season came out, and my sister and I were holed up in our movie room after our entire family caught COVID. With nowhere to go and nothing much to do, we spent our quarantine binge-watching films and TV shows nonstop. One of them was Euphoria—and almost immediately, I was hooked. From Rue’s spiral into addiction to Jules secretly meeting and hooking up with older men, the series was chaotic, messy, full of personality, and at times painfully hedonistic. But somehow, it all worked. Beneath the glitter, parties, and breakdowns was a show that understood what it felt like to be young and unraveling in real time.

Now heading into its third season, watching these characters grow into adulthood feels strangely aligned with my own life. I’m older now, too, navigating the realities of being a grown-up while still carrying fragments of who I was when I first watched the show. Naturally, everyone has their favorites when it comes to the show’s cast of misfits; with their intriguing stories, deep flaws, and layered motivations, well, it’s no surprise that what draws us to them might actually reveal a lot more about ourselves than we think. Here’s our (totally not professional, all-for-the-fun-of-it) assessment.

Rue Bennett

If you relate to Rue, let’s get one thing out of the way first: you’re a little selfish, but that’s not really your fault. You went through some tough times, and you’re who you are today because of it. You love trying new things—even if you know some are bad decisions in the making. That said, what makes you stand out is your courage; you’re not afraid to face the consequences of your actions, or fearful of turning off all common sense just for the sake of fun and thrill.

Euphoria Character Personality

Jules Vaughn

If your favorite character is Jules, let me hold your hand when I say this: have some self-love before seeking love from others. On the outside, you’re polished, you look stunning, and you probably have a Mugler or Acne Studios piece in your closet. But inside? You’re a hopeless romantic who just wants to be loved genuinely—not for your body, not for your sexuality, but simply for being you.

Euphoria Character Personality

Maddy Perez

If you see yourself in Maddy, well, hello, Queen B! You’re driven: you scheme, sabotage, and lie just to get what you want and reach where you want to go. Honestly, we respect that. Sure, you may not be in the best situation right now, but you have unlimited potential, and you know it. You’re just waiting for that one big break, that chance to showcase how good you are at your craft. It’ll come soon, don’t worry.

Euphoria Character Personality

Lexie Howard

If you love Lexie, then your Sun, Moon, and Rising must all be earth signs. You’re uptight, sure. You’re type A, yes. You miss out on a lot in life because you play it safe, and you’re a little upright (okay, very uptight, actually). But you’re talented and smart, too, approaching everything with a logic that’s honestly admirable. Your goal in life is to be successful, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Euphoria Character Personality

Cassie Howard

If Cassie is your favorite character, you live for drama, aesthetics, and the desperate yearning to be loved. You’re a chronic romantic who falls fast and hard. “I can change them” is a subconscious mantra of yours, and you have an unfortunate habit of completely morphing your personality to match whoever you’re currently dating (or crushing on).

Euphoria Character Personality

Nate Jacobs

Let’s just be honest: if Nate Jacobs is your favorite character, you’re a walking red flag, and you probably embrace it. You aren’t necessarily a bad person, but you’re absolutely drawn to the dark and deeply complicated. You value strength and loyalty above all else, but you need to realize that emotional availability isn’t weakness—and therapy is probably a better hobby than playing psychological chess with your friends.
