Sony Marks A Decade Of The 1000X Series In Style

By

Sony celebrates the arrival of the 1000X THE COLLEXION with an immersive celebration of audio innovation, fashion, and live performance.

Nowadays, luxury launches rarely stay confined to product demonstrations, and Sony embraced that shift when it introduced its newest flagship headphones in the Philippines. To mark both the arrival of the 1000X THE COLLEXION and the tenth anniversary of its acclaimed 1000X series, Sony staged an evening that positioned sound alongside fashion, performance, and design. The evening opened with a ballet performance that unveiled the headphones through movement and music before Sony Philippines President and Managing Director Shuhei Sugihara and Marketing Director Kentaro Imamura welcomed guests. Their presentations traced the evolution of the 1000X series, which first launched with the MDR-1000X in 2016, and introduced the latest model as the next step in Sony’s premium audio lineup.

Fashion Takes The Stage

Fashion also played an important role throughout the launch. Following a dance performance by A-Team, stylist Gian Romano presented a runway showcase that highlighted the headphones’ sophisticated silhouette and finish, positioning them as both a design object and a functional accessory. The presentation underscored how personal technology is increasingly becoming part of everyday style.

The conversation continued during Talk That Talk, a panel moderated by Rammy Bitong. Fashion designer Rajo Laurel joined entrepreneur Mika Lagdameo, creative director Daryl Chang, and AGC Power Holdings Corp. Chairman and CEO Archie Carrasco to discuss how sound influences creativity, productivity, and self-expression, specifically exploring the role audio plays in both professional and personal routines.

How Sony Combines Comfort And Craft

Sony spent two years developing the faux leather used on 1000X THE COLLEXION and paired it with metal detailing meant to read as understated. The headphones come in Black and White, built for long listening sessions rather than quick photo ops. Under the surface, the new model runs on a custom driver unit, Edge-AI powered DSEE Ultimate, an upgraded 360 Reality Audio Upmix, and the noise cancellation technology the 1000X line built its name on. It amounts to a lot of engineering packed into something the brand wants people to wear like an accessory.
