Bally's Latest Sneaker Collection Tells How Champions are Made

After years of being away from the Philippine market, Bally returns with its Champion sneaker. Recreated in its original form, the sneakers feature new vibrant colorways. Looking back, Swiss tennis stars Jakob Hlasek and Marc Rosset favored the original 1990 Champion sneakers. These tennis stars wore the signature sneakers when they won Grand Slam in 1992 at the French Open. Bally was part of this great moment in tennis history. The brand also continues to advocate for self-empowerment through its Champions are Made campaign.

Developing champions

Along with the relaunching of the Champion sneakers, Bally introduced their Champions are Made campaign. A celebration on how experiences can define and develop people. Bally CEO Frédéric de Narp shares that the campaign intends to empower people to persevere to win or succeed in life. “We wanted to tell a story of those who challenge themselves to their fullest potential, and we were inspired by Ncuti, Maeva and Matthew’s stories of dedication, bravery, and perseverance,” de Narp explains. The actor, model, and dancer shared how their traits propelled them to succeed in their careers: Ncuti Gatwa defines his own destiny, Maeva Giani Marshall turns her trauma into a trademark, and Matthew Bell pushes his limits.

Among Filipino society, Katrina Razon and Milka Romero are defining their destinies through their passions and experiences. They may have billionaire fathers like Enrique Razon and Mikee Romero yet the two women have established their own identity. Kat’s portfolio ranges from education, entertainment, and VC firm. In spite of a hectic schedule, she remains passionate about music as DJ Katsu. For Milka, the young restaurateur has been managing food businesses like Sushi Nori, Who is Ms. Gee, and Yelo Yelo PH. The girl boss knows one must dedicate herself to her passion. Kat and Milka’s experiences certainly helped them learn to navigate and succeed in life.

Inspired from the original

The Champions are Made campaign also highlights the latest Champion sneaker. Its design drew inspiration from the original 1990 model. To offer additional cushion and comfort, the brand modified the EVA midsole. The tongue features the embossed archival logo of Bally Tennis. Apart from these lovely details, the new sneakers present fresh season color combinations like white and fluorescent red and white and electric blue. This latest collection’s design and its origins certainly reflect how champions are made.

Bally Champion sneakers are available at Greenbelt 5, Rustan’s Makati, Shangri-La Plaza, Newport Mall, and at www.bally.com
