Think independent, think street, think global—these are ways to describe the new collaboration between luxury brand Jimmy Choo and cult street brand Off White™. Under the baton of Creative Director Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo has taken a surprising leftfield turn to unite with the popular brand by Virgil Abloh. Inspired by the late Diana, Princess of Wales, the Spring-Summer 2018 collaboration is “a wake-up call for classicists”. It boasts a fun aesthetic which mixes the fashion house’s classical sensibilities with the fresh aesthetic feel that is distinctly Off White™.

“Creative dreams were fulfilled when able to combine the young exuberance of Off White™ and the storied elegance of Jimmy Choo,” remarked Abloh, on the collection which boasts nine new shoe silhouettes. Jimmy Choo Creative Director Sandra Choi continued, “To collaborate with a brand like Off White™ allows Jimmy Choo to explore a new avenue and take part in a different conversation. I love to mix it up by getting together with a different creative mind identifying our synergies and combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising collection with unexpected links to the roots of our brand.” This marks the very first time that Jimmy Choo has collaborated with a commercial shoe brand from a ready-to-wear designer.
For this week’s Beauty Break, we look at several shoe silhouettes and the ready-to-wear looks that complement it. Made to celebrate the late Princess’ style, the collaboration aims to bring it into the modern age.
