It will include never-before-seen footage of the athlete’s personal life from the last forty years.
A Netflix documentary on British football star David Beckham is in the works. Although he’s known for being a world-class midfielder for Manchester United, the 47-year-old maintained a solid career outside the field.
As a model and spokesperson, Beckham has been a lifetime face of Adidas since a deal worth $160 million in 2003. In the same year, Queen Elizabeth II made the president and co-owner of teams Inter Miami C and co-owner of Salford City an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

Forbes ranks him the 19th wealthiest celebrity with a net worth of $47 million from endorsements for Coty, H&M, Sainsbury’s, Samsung, and his newest partner, watch brand Breitling.
In 1999, when he married former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham, their personal lives became highly publicized. From memorable fashion moments (like wearing matching leather by Versace) to their son, Brooklyn’s marriage to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz, their hold on pop culture remains tightly gripped.
The whole journey
The multi-part series will go beyond the glamour of stardom to explore Beckham’s humble working-class beginnings in East London. It will tell the story of his determination that made him “one of the most recognizable and scrutinized athletes of all time.”
Directed and produced by Academy Award-winner Fisher Stevens (PALMER, And We Go Green, The Cove), it will feature never-before-seen archive footage from the last forty years.
In addition, the series will include interviews with the family, friends, and football figures who have been part of his journey.
