Dewy, Earthy, and Smokey: The Makeup Looks on the F/W 2022 Runways We Love - Mirror,Mirror

They’re looks that you can recreate.

Beyond the clothes, something every fashion week offers are new beauty trends. While the Fall/Winter season is underway, we noticed some shows that gave us make-up inspiration.

Since it’s the Autumn fashion season, electric eyeshadow palettes and bold lipsticks are placed in the back burner. We’ve been seeing neutral tones, attention to skin quality, and a smokey eye that’s updated to work in the daytime too.

And yes, we’re aware the Philippines only has two climate seasons. So, that just means it doesn’t matter when we use the best make-up trends of the fashion months—these looks can serve as inspiration all year round.

Here are our favorite looks from the recently wrapped New York and London Fashion Weeks. From achieving a dewy look emulating a “post-gym” glow to a dainty yet creative way to line your eyes, you can try these looks right now.

Earth tone eyelids

Make-up artist Aaron de Mey used earth tones as the main attraction in Peter Do’s Fall 2022 show in London. Models wore the understated looks with Do’s “Foundation” collection, where we see how neutral outfits can pair great with the monochrome make-up look.

Lips stay natural-looking as well, with lip color matching the shade of eyeshadow.

Subtle winged eyeliner

A make-up go-to for many, a strong and sharp winged liner has a variation for every eye shape. But in the New York shows of Carolina Herrera and Ulla Johnson, a softer, more delicate side to the look was introduced.

At the former, make-up artist Laura Parson used only short flicks of eyeliner paired with rosy stained lips and cheeks. A similar technique was used in the eyelid for the Ulla Jhonson show, plus some lining in the lower lashline.

Post-gym glow

Dewy skin, flushed cheeks, and fluffed eyebrows sound like components of a no-fuss make-up look. But how do you achieve it with no make-up at all? Well, you can work out. With a look she dubs “post-gym glow,” make-up artist Sofia Tilbury shows us how to do just that (minus the real sweat).

Day to night smokey eye

Smokey eyes have always been synonymous with nights out. After all, a dark eye with a bold can be reminiscent of the roaring twenties, the era known for its nightlife. However, instead of piling up the dark eyeshadow only when the sun comes down, you can take notes from Jason Wu’s looks by Diana Kendal.

A pop of bright color just at the corner of your eyes can make the smokey eye suitable for all day and all night.
