AzukiToyo, an eight‑seat kakigori bar at Makati’s Karrivin Plaza, is a collaboration between Toyo Eatery’s Jordy Navarra and Florilège’s Hiroyasu Kawate. The newly-opened spot serves five inventive shaved-ice desserts that blend Japanese technique with Filipino flavors, such as halo-halo and mais-keso. AzukiToyo’s minimalist interiors—crafted with reclaimed mango wood in a binakael pattern—not only provide guests with a tranquil space to enjoy their sweet treats, but also reflect the establishment’s focus on seasonality, craftsmanship, and storytelling.

Spotted Pig

Siargao-born café Spotted Pig has opened its second Metro Manila branch at Proscenium Rockwell in Makati. Founded by Belle Alvarez, it brings its seaside charm to a larger space with a mezzanine bar and island-inspired design. The menu features specialty coffee, all-day brunch favorites, cocktails, and inclusive options for various diets, making it a welcoming spot for both regulars and new visitors at any time of the day.

Sabai at Shangri-La The Fort

Uma Nota Manila gave diners a sneak peek of Sabai, its upcoming modern Thai restaurant, ahead of its opening at Shangri-La The Fort. The one-day event showcased the soulful, elevated flavors of Chef Puwadol “Tob” Assavadathkamjorn, who has worked in several Michelin-starred kitchens. As for the menu, guests can expect a selection of authentic regional Thai dishes—from crispy crab fat rice pancakes to rich panang curry—that highlight the very best qualities of the country’s rich cuisine.

Medusa Supper Club at The Palace Manila

Medusa, newly opened at The Palace Manila in Uptown Bonifacio, redefines the city’s nightlife with its fusion of European-style fine dining and a vibrant late-night scene. Set in an Art Deco–tropical space with a dramatic oval bar and private rooms, it offers a seamless transition from elegant dinners to cocktails and music until 2 AM. Michelin-trained chefs Lisa Revilla, David Thien Chow Kang, and Ruther Sandico present elevated comfort dishes like oysters Rockefeller and Wagyu mille-feuille, complemented by creative cocktails, punch bowls, and a 70-label wine list.

Bar Pintxos

This July, Bar Pintxos welcomed Chef Mikel Arregi, a young and dynamic talent from San Sebastián, who brings his signature Basque flair to the beloved Spanish restaurant.
