Known for its clever fusion spins on Japanese cuisine, Izakaya Geronimo has already become a neighborhood staple in the nearly three years it has been in BGC. Yet even classics need a refresh every once in a while to keep things exciting, and this year marks a special shift with the debut of a new menu. While the old adage goes “out with the old and in with the new,” the refreshed menu still keeps beloved signatures of the brand, including its ramen, yakitori, and salads. Those looking for something different can turn to the array of dishes added by culinary consultant Chef Tetsuya Honda, who built the selection around iconic Japanese dishes and more innovative takes on izakaya signatures.

Currently the CEO of Updraft, Inc., Chef Honda leads initiatives that support F&B businesses in restaurant openings, product development, and brand growth, while also operating his own yakiniku concepts. With over two decades of experience, the seasoned culinary leader and entrepreneur has successfully launched 10 restaurants, managing end-to-end operations from menu development and sourcing to recruitment and hygiene standards.

New dishes include a range of lunch sets, as well as sushi and nigiri, including nokke: a dish of raw fish that’s placed atop a set of sushi.
