“I can’t wait to bring this story back home and to share this amazing experience with you all,” the actress said in a video posted by the production company.

Speaking to CNN Philippines, Go said that she went through a “a nerve-racking audition” for the role of Eliza. She even lost her voice on audition day but her prayers worked. “For some reason my voice just came out and they offered me the role the next day,” she added.

Eliza, the wife of United States’ founding father Alexander Hamilton, is a significant character in the musical. In the end, finally taking control of the narrative, it is as much her story as it is Hamilton’s.

Go will be joined by fellow cast members Jason Arrow as Alexander Hamilton, Deaundre’ Woods as Aaron Burr, David Park as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Akina Edmonds as Angelica Schuyler, and Elandrah Eramiha as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds.

The cast came from different productions such as Broadway, the North American Tours, London, Australia, and Germany.

“The entire creative team and I are thrilled that Hamilton will be seen by new audiences all over the world, and for them to experience the talents of this inspiring company,” said Hamilton producer Jeffery Seller.

The Tony and Grammy award-winning musical will be running in the Philippines for more than two months. Hamilton’s Asian premiere kicks off at The Theatre at Solaire on September 17, 2023.
