The strapless gown was made with illusion tulle and adorned with silver pearls and rhinestones.

According to Glamour, her jewelry was also from Tiffany & Co. It included a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock ring.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner made a statement at the 2024 Met Gala by wearing a never-before-worn archival dress from Alexander McQueen’s fall 1999 collection for Givenchy haute couture, as said by People

This choice made her the first person to wear this particular piece, which had only been showcased on a mannequin previously.

Jenner expressed her excitement about wearing McQueen’s creation, telling Vogue about its unique features, including a scalloped butt cutout, a high-neckline, and intricate beaded details.

She shared, “I made a dream list of who I would ideally want to go with, and I would have died to wear something by Alexander McQueen.”

This Met Gala marked Jenner’s 10th appearance at the event, where she stood out in the exclusive and historic dress.

Jennie Kim from Blackpink made a stunning entrance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She chose a cobalt-blue minidress, offering a unique twist on the dress code for the event.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, Jennie’s ensemble was a custom creation from Alaïa.

The dress featured intricate draping at the hemline and an asymmetrical cutout at the abdomen. Also a one-sleeve shoulder detail that extended into a floor-length train.

To add some extra flair, she accessorized with a gold belly chain and pearl drop earrings.

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey made a grand return to the Met Gala this year. Her first attendance since 2018, as  per Vogue. True to her style, she showcased an ethereal yet darkly romantic fashion statement for the event.

She wore a custom design by Alexander McQueen’s Seán McGirr. Which referenced an archival look from the brand’s fall 2006 collection. Vogue notes that McGirr aimed to honor the craftsmanship of the atelier in a modern way.

The result was a corseted dress made of silk, double georgette, and tulle. It was all hand-embroidered with hammered bronze-bullion hawthorn branches. Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti’s sculptures inspired the design.

To complement the dress, McGirr crafted a special headpiece for Del Rey using natural hawthorn branches draped with sheer tulle.

Del Rey completed her look with a bronze metal Drop bag adorned with a clock detail.

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning embraced the theme of the 2024 Met Gala with a gown that held a deeper significance. As per Elle magazine, the actor’s choice of attire was a glassy transparent gown by Balmain, which gave the illusion of her being encased in solid ice.

In a nod to J.G. Ballard’s short story, where a character gathers “time flowers” to reverse time, Fanning’s gown mirrored this concept. The gown’s transparent fronds appeared frosted with diamond brilliance, similar to the description of the time flowers in the story.

Harper’s Bazaar described Fanning’s look as a sculptural off-the-shoulder wrap dress adorned with flowers along the neckline and a flowing skirt. She complemented the dress with silver sandals and diamond earrings by Cartier. Her makeup was kept simple and rosy, while her blonde hair cascaded in waves, tucked behind her ears.

Fanning truly embodied the theme with her romantic ensemble, capturing the essence of the story’s time-altering flowers in her stunning gown.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid exuded old Hollywood glamour in a white off-the-shoulder gown by Thom Browne adorned with rose detailing.

According to People, the gown included an attached train that required five handlers to fluff out as she posed on the red carpet.

The train, similar to the top of her dress, showcased yellow appliques and a quirky detail: it mimicked a tuxedo jacket, complete with sleeves.

Vogue reported that the gown was a significant undertaking, requiring over 70 people and more than 13,500 hours to handcraft. Following the Met Gala, the dress will be preserved in Browne’s permanent archive, making it a one-of-a-kind ensemble.

Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe

Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe impressed with their coordinated outfits at the 2024 Met Gala, looking like the perfect couple.

“We’re matching outfits!” Redmayne joyfully told Vogue red carpet hosts Gwendoline Christie and Ashley Graham on May 6. He pointed out that the outfit was by a young designer named Steve O. Smith, whom he praised as both an extraordinary man and an extraordinary designer.

Both Redmayne and Bagshawe donned attire featuring prominent black blotches on layers of white tulle.

Bagshawe’s attire comprised a tea-length dress complemented by a coordinating sculptural hat, gloves, and pointed black boots.

In contrast, Redmayne sported a long, tulle blazer with matching black ink spots, a tie, and black oxford shoes, as detailed by People.
