In a time of crisis, these people have shown the brighter side of humanity by helping their fellow Filipinos.
For those who have the capacity the give, there exists a greater responsibility to act on it. With everything that has and will continue to transpire, right now is the time to show the true Filipino spirit of looking out for each other. Taking to the Bayanihan attitude, these people have shown that through their actions showing what it truly entails to live a meaningful life. Realizing that actions speak much louder than words, from donation thousands of medical supplies to allowing employees to take pay while on leave, these Filipinos shine the light of compassion in these tense times.

Aivee & Z Teo
The doctor duo has taken an active initiative during the lockdown and have distributed thousands of medical supplies including masks, gloves, alcohol, sanitizer, disinfectants, head covers, boots, and other PPEs. They’ve distributed these supplies to nearly 50 hospitals all across Metro Manila and are continuing to deliver more as needed. Their food arm, Aivee Cafe has also been distributing food packages to front liners at multiple hospitals.

Ben Chan
Through his #BENCHCares initiative, select Bench food brands (namely Paul Boulangerie and Marugame Udon) distributed food packages to medical front liners at St. Luke’s BGC, Makati Medical Center, and Bacoor District Hospital. These packages consisted of full meals, as well as lights snacks such as sandwiches and pastries.

Jaime Zobel De Ayala
To a more workforce standpoint, the Chairman and CEO of the Ayala Corporation announced on social media that the company, “has decided to adopt a COVID-19 emergency response package of P2.4B.” This packages includes wages, bonuses, leave conversions for the workforce of the company’s employers. Assuring the financial stability of the corporations thousands of employees in many Ayala Land Properties.

Vicki Belo
As posted on Instagram, Belo states, “Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Belo Medical Group stays in solidarity with the government, and the people in our continued fight against the spread of COVID-19.” The post expounds on a two-fold initiative by the medical group. First is the distribution of medical supplies from their own clinics to hospitals and health centers in need of them. Secondly, the continuous salary and early release of 13th month pay to ensure the security and safety of the group’s valued employees.

Manny V. Pangilinan
In response to the President Duterte’s call for cooperation during the outbreak, the business executive announced on his social media that, “the MVP Group is one with the President in coping with this virus. We are helping our employees by maintaining their salaries and benefits during the crisis. ” The post further detailed how the company is also aiding in the supply and distribution of face masks and other PPEs to frontline health workers in need of them.

Tim Yap
Proving that no act is too small in the current situation, Tim Yap personally delivered a supply of face masks and other supplies to the Medical Centre Taguig for front liners and health workers in need of them. Stating on his IG stories, “we realized at home we have a lot of supplies. We have a lot of masks that Javi saved for events, so now we have no use because there are no events, so we’re going to give them out.” Tim was also one of the first to call for support for #frontlinersPH movement on social media.

Dennis Uy
The Chairman & CEO of the Udenna Group shares, “These are very somber times. COVID-19 is not just a national problem but is a global pandemic. While we’re literally disallowed to join hands, nothing is stopping the private sector, the local government, and the international community from responding collectively to contain, or at the very least slow the spread of COVID-19. We all have a role, and this is our small share to help.” With this statement, the company has maintained the salaries of its employees during the quarantine period. As well as releasing half of their 13th month pay and a portion of their year end bonuses. Also, the Udenna Foundation, in partnership with MyongJi Hospital, has donated 1,000 COVID-19 diagnostic test kits to the Department of Health which were received on March 13. Udenna has also taken a food initiative with its F&B subsidiaries (Wendy’s and Conti’s), and have prepared and distributed over 200 food packs to health care workers around the metro.
