J.Lo might get on the floor, but the price ceiling of her engagement rings is through the roof.
Jennifer Lopez has obtained quite a collection of engagement rings from different proposals over the years. These came from her relationship history with Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck, Marc Anthony, Alex Rodriguez, and again—Affleck.
Lopez’s latest ring from her second engagement with Affleck could be her most expensive yet, according to experts.
“A green diamond of that size is incredibly rare and would dwarf the value of their previous engagement ring. I would value the ring well over $5 million. And could be worth more than $10 million,” The Diamond Pro chief executive officer Michael Fried said.
Rare Carat chief operating officer Apeksha Kothari agreed with the high appraisal. “This fancy shade occurs in less than 0.1% of natural diamonds. Green diamonds are much rarer than white diamonds—and the particular chemical formation that makes diamonds green tends to make it hard to find a [one] fit for an engagement ring in sizes above 1 carat,” Kothari said.
Diamond Hedge founder Mehul Sompura similarly estimated the ring to cost around $5 million to $8 million.
Green-minded
“I always say the color green is my lucky color. Maybe you can remember a certain green dress. I’ve realized there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green,” Lopez wrote in her newsletter On the J Lo.
After all, one does not simply put a ring on it when it comes to J.Lo. This reflects in the overall price range of all her engagement rings.
Based on Diamond Hedge, the rest of the rings respectively cost $20,000 (Noa), an estimated six figures (Judd), $1.2 million (first engagement with Affleck), $4 million (Anthony), and $1 million to $3 million (Rodriguez).
