Yoichi is the main dining hall where one can indulge in a wide variety of Japanese and international delights at the elegant dining buffet restaurant that spreads across four “Enchanted Forest” themed dining spaces. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here. I was quite happy assembling my chirashi bowl (fresh, sashimi-grade seafood topped over rice) which I overflowed with ikura (salmon roe), salmon, and hokkigai (surf clam). Food is changed daily but the minimum stay in the resort is three nights so it is likely you’ll chance upon one of my favorite dinners- one with the all-you-can-eat Hokkaido oysters and snow crab. Guests can also enjoy a homely dining experience at The Ogon, an Asian-fusion restaurant that specializes in Chinese and Thai cuisine using fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the Hokkaido region.

There are two excellent specialty restaurants in the resort. The Kaen is a yakiniku specialty restaurant that presents an authentic Japanese barbecue dining experience featuring premium grilled meats of Hokkaido and Wagyu beef, and ocean-fresh seafood paired with a selection of mouthwatering side dishes. The Ebisu is a sushi specialty restaurant offering a sumptuous meal paired with local sake or shochu. Dining in these two restaurants though are not included in the inclusive package as these establishments are within Club Med but not run by them.

There are optional activities offered outside the resort. Guests may wander through the coastal town Otaru, a port city known for their glasswork and oil lamp factories, music boxes, and sake distilleries. Just 40 minutes away from Club Med Kiroro Peak, discover local Hokkaido delights at Sankaku Fish Market and savor artisanal sake and beers from local breweries in the Otaru and Yoichi Distillery. Visitors normally bring home a music box, local delicacies, or a piece from the Otaru Glassmaking Workshop.
