There’s a lot of noise coming from social media comparing two very different wedding dresses by the same Italian designer.
Kourtney Kardashian and Lady Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece, reportedly both married in Dolce and Gabbana gowns. Social media noticed a difference in both wedding dresses—a point of comparison for the audience is how they differed in aesthetic and presumed quality.

Lady Kitty Spencer reportedly married a South African businessman in the summer of 2021. Being the global ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, Spencer wore a couture gown from the Italian brand’s Alta Mode division. Being of nobility the bridal white lace gown makes the perfect sense for her wedding. The Lady wore five custom dresses for her wedding festivities.
On the flip side, Kourtney Kardashian married a musician last May 2022. The recently married Kardashian said that her wedding was inspired by the band Guns N’ Roses. She wore a custom short lace dress with a dramatic veil inspired by the bridal gown of a character from the Guns N’ Roses music video. Sporting a shorter bridal gown than usual—Kardashian’s taste and aesthetic truly fit her groom’s profession. Aside from the wedding dress, she also picked out archival pieces for her family to wear at the event.
Two weddings, different vibes
Two separate wedding gowns were worn by two very different individuals. One is a reality star and, the other is of nobility. The two individuals have two different audiences and crowds to show up for. Comments about Kardashian getting the short end of the stick on a Dolce and Gabbana wedding gown sponsorship are absurd. The reality star chose the theme and aesthetic she wanted for her wedding—just like Spencer chose hers. Being a noblewoman, she must uphold an image. An image that would appease not just her guests but also the public eye watching.
The internet should stop pitting two women against each other. Each wedding dress was beautiful and memorable for both brides. It is not hard to be kind, let people enjoy and savor their moments.
