The pop star is now one of the wealthiest self-made women in America.
On September 18, 2023, Litmus Music announced that they have entered a creative partnership with Katy Perry. The deal covers all five of the singer’s studio albums released for Capitol Records between 2008 and 2020.
According to Forbes, the music rights were worth a reported $225 million, increasing Perry’s net worth to an estimated $340 million. She is now one of the richest self-made women in America, joining the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna, and Taylor Swift.

Litmus Music’s co-founder and chief creative officer Dan McCarroll has had a longstanding relationship with Perry, ever since he became president of Capitol Records in 2010.
“Katy Perry is a creative visionary who has made a major impact across music, TV, film, and philanthropy. I’m so honored to be partnering with her again and to help Litmus manage her incredible repertoire,” McCarroll said.
“Katy’s songs are an essential part of the global cultural fabric. We are so grateful to be working together again with such a trusted partner whose integrity shines in everything that she does,” added Hank Forsyth, co-founder and CEO of Litmus Music.
The singer debuted in the music scene with her single “I Kissed A Girl.” The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for seven weeks. Perry’s other hits include “California Gurls,” “Firework,” and “E.T.”
In 2015, Forbes featured her on the cover as the third highest-earning entertainer that year. Perry headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show on that year as well. Most of the singer’s net worth comes from her music career, tour earnings, her Las Vegas residency, and her role as a judge on American Idol.
