Elon Musk and Bernard Arnault’s combined fortune amounts to more than $400 billion.
Last Friday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault dined at LVMH’s Cheval Blanc hotel with a couple of their family members. While Musk is currently at the top of the world’s richest people list, the two have often traded this title.
The two billionaires were joined by Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, as well as two of Arnault’s sons, Antoine and Alexandre. Antoine is currently LVMH’s head of communication, image and environment while Alexandre is the Tiffany & Co. executive vice president.

Antoine, the eldest son, also posted photos of the meeting on his Instagram account. The photos showed their meeting place, the terrace of the private apartment atop the Cheval Blanc, and a clear view of the Eiffel Tower.
Details of their conversation and even of the lunch menu have not yet emerged. Later in the day, Elon made an appearance at the VivaTech conference, discussing AI technology and other matters with Antoine who was also onstage. The event was hosted by advertising companies Publicis Groupe SA and Les Echos, owned by Arnault’s LVMH.
The Tesla CEO also talked about his SpaceX projects, saying “The public’s desire for space and exploration is very high but there needs to be a way, there needs to be a radical improvement in the cost of access to orbit.” At the end of the event, the organizers opened the floor to audience questions which fans were eager to participate in.
Elon has been busy in Europe the past few days, meeting with world leaders and other influential individuals. So far, he has met with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron. Discussion topics have ranged from AI developments to building new Tesla factories.
