Giving back to the community, the renowned designer leads a benefit fashion show for breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
A household name in Philippine fashion, Renee Salud is labeled the PH Ambassador of Fashion. Countless iconic fashion shows pass by, but one thing remains true, Salud will always produce impeccable designs. Months after the renowned designer’s comeback after the pandemic, Salud spearheads a benefit fashion show called Moda De Trabiesa.

The benefit fashion show was held in Tagaytay City last Saturday, April 22, 2023. The fashion show directed by Cata Figueoa Jr. carries the tagline, “Passion for Art, Fashion With A Heart.” The fashion show featured emerging Filipino designers. The runway show is held in honor and for the benefit of indigent breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
In an interview Salud did during his comeback show last March 2022, the designer promised “Now na nakabalik na uli tayo, we have to give back.” After being disheartened during the pandemic, Salud remains relevant not just through his designs but also through his causes. The event is a testament to the designer’s fulfillment of his promise to give back.
It is not the first time the designer gives back to the community. Aside from his benefits, the fashion ambassador also recently opened a pageant camp named The Crown Initiative. “We believe in empowerment through a holistic approach to self-improvement and development,” according to the training camp. Salud’s work mainly caters to helping and empowering women through what he loves, fashion and pageantry.
